Baking and Stealing

I forgot about these photos before Christmas. Here is the wife baking a gingerbread house with the kids. But one of them is theiving. You can never guess who?

Clara, Isak and Angelica.

Gotta put the M&M’s on. But something’s wrong with the photo. Shouldn’t there be another kid helping?

img_9897
“Ah, there you are! What is is you’re sitting there thinking about (as if I didn’t know)? Common, honey, why don’t you take the candy with you and put it on the gingerbread house.”

img_9896
“Hey you! You can’t eat those!”

img_9903
“Common, stop that!!! We need those!”

Is it just my kids who only listen when they want to?

img_9906
“Maybe you should spit some of those out?”

img_9907
Fat chans, daddy!

“Okay… does Clara want to do some baking instead? Hmm… why do you stare s0 intensely at the dough? You’re not thinking of …?

img_99211
“Helloooooo!!!”  Stop that!

Now I’m starting to feel annoyed that she’s sooo much like me. I always eat half of the dough myself. I figure it should be proportionally correct: since eating the dough is half the fun of baking, then one should also be aloud to eat half of it!

“You little rascal!” mom says.

The flour spot was put there by Clara. She thinks it should be mandatory when baking.

“Well… a lot of help you were! But I see someone still gave you a cookie as a thank you. But listen, next time maybe we should try to bake more and eat a little less?”

She nods and smiles. Big smile.

Hmm… there’s something about that look I don’t trust. Well, well… even if we have a thief in the family, she’s still a cute thief.

Live well! (As long as you don’t eat to much cookie dough)

AAAW she is cute:-) Little princess!
I tell my kids that if there is eggs in the dough, they can´t eat it before it has been baken… They fear salmonella too much!!
Very beautiful cake-house:-) I got a recipe a few years ago but have never made it… Sadly… Maybe next year:-)

I’ve got some “Clara captions” to go with the photos:
Photo 1: That looks interesting – I wonder what they’re doing.
Photo 2: But I spied something even more interesting back here on this bench!
Photo 3: These look very colourful – I wonder what they taste like.
Photo 4: I’ll just try one and see!
Photo 5: Not bad at all – quite tasty in fact!
    Photo 6: Oops – I think I’ve been caught!
Photo 7: Okay Dad, you got me!
Photo 8: This looks different – maybe I should try it too.
    Photo 9: I’ll just have a little taste…
Photo 10: I’m sorry Mum, I just couldn’t help myself!
Photo 11: But I promise I’ll be good next time!!

Heeeey, last monday I had the same problem over here!
I baked cookies with my two boys, and the youngest kept eating dough…
Sorry enough for my oldest, but that was the most fast baking cookies ever in history!
Like a nutcase I threw them in the oven….
It was that or….a heated empty oven.
Now, my oldest son also had a cookie…:-)
Next time I split the dough in half! And when the little one eat his part…maybe I can put him into the oven 😉
It’s sorry I can’t show pictures of it….but my little gangster had the same angel face as Clara.
So to answer your question….Not only your children hear what they want to hear….I think they all have the same earproblem!!!
